FALL RIVER: The public hearing date for a contentious proposed development in Fall River has been officially set.

In an interview with The Laker on Feb. 11 at his Fall River office at the Gordon R. Snow Community Centre, Councill0or Steve Streatch confirmed info for the hearing.

“It will be held on March 5 as part of regional council beginning at 6 p.m.,” said Streatch.

Community members who oppose the development—know as the Carr Farm Development—say they aren’t against seniors housing, but feel there’s more going on than meets the eye with the development.

Most say they will be at regional council to voice their position as to why they oppose it.

Word is that there will also be two bus loads of seniors in attendance in support of the project.

Regional council will decide whether the project is to move forward or not at the hearing.
