FALL RIVER: A former Fall River hockey player has committed to play with a new entry into the Quebec division of USports women’s hockey.
Neleh Vigneau Sargeant, who attends Lockview High but now lives with her family near Dartmouth, was announced by the Bishop’s University Gaiters as signing to join the squad next year.
Gaiters women’s hockey head coach, Dominic Desmarais is pleased to announce the commitment Vigneau Sargeant, who plays with the Bussey Auto Brokers Penguins of the recently renamed Maritime Major U18 hockey league.
“We’re very excited to welcome Neleh, she will bring a high level of work ethic, speed and good offence to our team,” said Coach Desmarais in a team post on their Facebook page.
Vigneau Sargeant leads the Pens in scoring with two goals and five assists in six games played to Nov. 4. She also leads the Metro High School girls hockey league in scoring where her Lockview Dragons are 3-0 so far.
