WINDSOR JUNCTION: A goalie from the community of Windsor Junction will get to continue his hockey career with the team he’s grown up watching.
At the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft on June 2, the Halifax Mooseheads made Jonathan Pickrem’s dreams come true taking the quick moving goaltender in the seventh round, 124th overall.
The former GP Vanier student was one of two goalies the Moose, who will host the 2019 Memorial Cup, selected in the 14 round draft. Lac St-Louis goalie Simon Bucheler was taken in round three, 52nd overall.
With the Valley Wildcats of the N.S. Major Midget Hockey League played in 15 games, recording a 7-7 (won-loss) record with a 2.93 Goals Against Average.
