WAVERLEY: A runner from Waverley kicked off the 2018 track and field season on the right foot at the Athletics Nova Scotia warm-up meet.
Brody Boudreau, who calls Waverley home with his family, and a student at Prince Andrew High in Dartmouth, was the best of the competitors in his class to bring home first place.
The warm-up meet took place at Beazley Field in Dartmouth.
Boudreau, who competes with Chebucto Athletics, ran a 2:02.17 in the final of the 800 metre race for men 16-17-year-olds, besting Chebucto teammate Drew Somers.
William Watts of Valley Athletics was third while Max Mazerolle from A.S.E.A. was fourth.
