FALL RIVER: HRM Fire has announced its plans for fire service protection in Fall River for the two weeks that the Fall River Road bridge will be closed for work as part of the water project.
Gord West says four career firefighters each will be stationed at Station 41 in Waverley and Station 45 in Fall River at the Snow Centre at the top of Fall River Road.This will be during Monday to Friday between career firefighter hours.
The bridge will be closed from 6 p.m. on July 29 to Aug. 12.
He said this will provide an expanded level of coverage for those on both sides of Fletchers Lake and Lake Thomas during the daytime hours, and crews will respond accordingly.
The service will remain the same for volunteer firefighters during the overnight and weekend time.
