ENFIELD: East Hants RCMP responded tom 105 calls for service during the period of Feb. 16 to Feb. 23.
Here are just a couple of the spotlighted calls as provided by S/Sgt. Cory Bushell in his weekly From the Cruiser submission. Two other reported incidents were done as separate stories.
On Feb. 18, RCMP were notified of a possible impaired driver in Elmsdale. The caller told police a 72-year-old Enfield man was showing signs of intoxication at the Elmsdale Shopping Plaza. The man entered a vehicle and began driving south on Hwy 214.
Officers quickly located the driver and arrested him. They brought him to the detachment for roadside screening testing.
The driver’s blood alcohol concentration level was nearly double the legal limit.
He was charged with impaired driving and later released to appear in court at a later date.
RCMP officers received a complaint on Feb. 22 from a local resident that had paid a large deposit for a puppy, which would be ready to be picked up once weaned.
When the puppy was not ready on time, and the seller began giving different stories to the seller, the buyer requested a refund on the deposit.
No refund was provided, and the matter is under investigation.
Residents are warned to never provide deposits on goods or services to vendors who are not known and reputable.
