ENFIELD: RCMP officers in East Hants responded to 95 calls during the week of Feb.2 to Feb. 9.
RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision on Feb. 2 in Gormanville. The mvc quickly became a hit-and-run when one of the vehicles involved left the scene.
The caller reported they were on Highway 354 between 7 and 8 p.m. when a pickup truck ran into the rear of their SUV causing serious damage and injuring the caller.
Police said they were informed the pickup then left the scene, driving north bound on Highway 354 and did not stop.
Anyone with information in this matter is asked to call the East Hants RCMP at 902-883-7077.
On Feb. 3, an Enfield resident called to report she had received a call with an automated message reporting she had a huge credit card bill.
The resident quickly realized it was a scam and hung up prior to releasing information.
Residents are reminded, scammers will try any trick to have you release information they will use to steal your money.
No reputable bank or government organization will call your home and ask you to provide your name or personal information. When in doubt, hang up.
East Hants RCMP conducted 12 check stops throughout the county this week in an effort to detect impaired drivers, unsafe or unregistered vehicles and unlicensed drivers.
This effort resulted in several tickets for infractions.
