LANTZ: The Department of Labour has confirmed there was a workplace incident resulting in a death of an employee in Lantz on Sept. 15.
Shannon Kerr, spokesperson with the Labour department, told The Laker News they are investigating the incident.
“We can confirm we’ve responded to a workplace fatality that occurred this morning in Lantz,” said Kerr. “A stop work order has been issued on the equipment involved in the incident.”
East Hants RCMP confirmed they responded to the scene and upon determining there was nothing criminal, they turned the investigation over to the Department of Labour.
Kerr said the department’s investigation is ongoing.
“We have no further information to share at this time,” said Kerr.
