DOLLAR LAKE: A lifeguard from Milford is looking for the communities support as she looks to raise a lot of money for Brigadoon Village during next month’s BrigaSwim.
Grace Heukshorst is one of the many N.S. Lifeguard Service lifeguards from the Dollar Lake region that have accepted the challenge to take part in the BrigaSwim.
Heukshorst will be doing a one kilometre swim at the beautiful Dollar Lake Provincial Park beach in August. The BrigaSwim is set to occur between Aug. 10-14.
What’s it all about? Brigadoon Village is an amazing not-for-profit organization that helps kids who are affected by chronic conditions or other life challenges explore enriching, and fun experiences with kids and volunteers who understand.
The NSLS loves Brigadoon and we do our training camp there every year. Covid-19 prevented this from happening this year.
Heoukshorst encourages everyone to come visit her or the other lifeguards at Dollar Lake or any of the 19 participating NSLS supervised beaches across the province and help raise some money for Brigadoon.
She has a personal goal of raising at least $1500. To help support the Milford native, check out her fundraising link at: http://bccs.convio.net/site/TR/WalkRun/General…
