LOWER SACKVILLE: On International Women’s Day March 8, women across the world were recognized and celebrated.
In Lower Sackville, a room full of women–and some men–filled in for a two hour lunch at the Sackville Legion.

They heard from Trevor Sanipass, who opened by acknowledgingt the event was on Unceded Mi’kmaq territory, and performed the honour song.
Seniors Minister Filomena Tassi, along with Sackville-Preston-Chezzetcook MP Darrell Samson shook hands with some of the crowd. Tassi also gave a speech.

Jay Aaron Roy, better known as the face of Cape and Cowl Comics to many, also spoke at the event, which was organized by Party Patrol Event’s Shera-Lee Kerr.
