FALL RIVER: A local women’s hockey player has notched a year-end award at her Division III NCAA women’s hockey program.
Micayla MacIntyre was named the SUNY Canton Women’s Hockey Hero of the Year award recipient.
MacIntyre, a graduate of the Pro Cresting Midget AAA Penguins program, netted a goal and 10 assists in 24 games with the Roos.
“Through hard work and dedication to my sport, paired with having excellent support form both my teammates and coaches allowed me to have a successful year,” MacIntyre said.
She is a Criminal Justice Major, who finished her junior season with the Roos.
