FALL RIVER: RCMP are crediting the quick action of a resident who awoke to find two male youths existing the garage of his Keldonan Way home in the early morning hours of April 1.
Cpl. Dal Hutchinson, spokesman with Halifax District RCMP, said that just before 4 a.m. on April 1, officers responded to a break and enter in progress at the home.
“The home owner awoke to find two males exiting his garage,” said Cpl. Hutchinson. “When confronted, they fled in a car that was waiting on the street in front of the home.
“The quick action of the home owner and RCMP resulted in the arrest of three male youth.”
Keldonan Way is a small street across from Bonny View Court off High Road. It has just a handful of homes on its street.
The two seventeen-year old males and the sixteen-year old are facing charges for Break and Enter. They were later released to their parents, and are scheduled to appear in Provincial Youth Court at a later date.
Because of their ages, Cpl. Hutchinson could not say the communities the three are from.
He added that other garages at residences in the other appear to have been targeted as well, with fuel being stolen.
Cpl. Hutchinson said if anyone feels they may have been a victim of theft on this night, March 31/early morning April 1 in this area, they’re encouraged to call Halifax District RCMP – Lower Sackville Detachment, at 902-490-5020.
