FLETCHERS LAKE: A simple attempt to notify a motorist of a burnt-out headlight ended up in a crash in Fall River in the mid-evening hours of March 6.
Cpl. Lisa Croteau with Halifax District RCMP said that a member from Halifax District RCMP noticed a vehicle with a burnt-out headlight around 9:25 p.m. at a gas station on Hwy 2 in Fall River.
“The member attempted to notify the driver of the headlight, but they took off on Fall River Road,” said Cpl. Croteau on March 8.
She said the suspect vehicle was later located in the ditch on Brook Street, off Holland Road, in Fletchers Lake.
“The two occupants of the vehicle fled the scene,” she said.
Residents of the area reported police activity, including RCMP police dogs, in the area as they searched for the suspects in the wee hours.
Cpl. Croteau said the vehicle involved has been seized by police and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
