WINDSOR JUNCTION: The 2019 version of Keloose will see a new person leading the way in its organization.
With Nick Yeomans and a few of the past regulars who had been behind the event stepping away, new faces were needed.
So in steps Jay Cameron, a Windsor Junction native and father of two, and Pat Healey to assist with sponsorship and promotion. Cameron is the new chairman of the event.
There has already been a couple of meetings with the volunteer board as planning begins for the summer of fun from Aug 16-18, highlighted by the best fireworks show in HRM.
Looking to the event, Keloose has confirmed local band The Home Wreckers will be the adult dance band, performing Aug. 17 at the LWF Hall in Fall River. More details will come out in the near future on this.
Kids day Aug. 18 is shaping up to include the Children’s Parade from the School of Performing Arts to the WJCC, set for 10 a.m. Kids day will begin at 11 and run until 2 p.m. What fun will be had is still in the finalization process.
The lead up to the fireworks will start at 4 p.m., with music expected to include the FRSPA band camp students and many fun activities, including food trucks. It’s all capped off by the best fireworks show in HRM at 9 p.m.
Keep an eye on the Keloose Facebook page for more details. If you can volunteer some of your time, your help on Kids Day would be greatly appreciated.
