LOWER SACKVILLE: A 32-year-old man from Beaver Bank has been charged with robbery from a business in Lower Sackville.
Halifax District RCMP said the robbery occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on April 8 in the 600 block of Sackville Drive. where he demanded hydromorphone
Upon arriving at the scene, a preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business, confronted an employee and demanded hydromorphone pills.
The employee feared that the suspect may have a weapon as he was keeping one hand in his pocket. After receiving a quantity of hydromorphone pills, the suspect fled the store.
A witness provided a description of the suspect and his direction of travel, which assisted police in identifying him. He was arrested without incident during a traffic stop in Dartmouth.
John Charles Auld, 32, has been charged with Robbery; and Wearing a Mask While Committing an Indictable Offence. He was remained into custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court on April 10.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
Halifax Regional Police K-9 unit assisted with the search.
