FALL RIVER: A 30-year-old woman from Fall River has been arrested after stolen credit cards were used at a local business.
Laura Anne Crosby has been charged with two counts of Possession of Property obtained by crime and seven counts of fraud under $5,000.
Halifax District RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dal Hutchinson said Crosby was arrested on Sept. 29 after a traffic stop by Halifax Regional Police on the Bedford Bypass.
“The woman was in possession of items stolen from a vehicle in Fall River early Friday morning and suspected of having used stolen credit cards at a local business,” said Cpl. Hutchinson.
She was remanded in to custody and was scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on Oct. 1.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
Police continue to remind people of the importance to remove valuables from their vehicles after RCMP have responded to over 80 complaints of thefts from unlocked vehicles since August 1.
