WAVERLEY: A volleyball player from Waverley that had a big role in the Dalhousie Tigers women’s volleyball teams weekend wins against Memorial was named the MUSCLE MLK Female Athlete of the Week.
Tori Haworth,a Lockview High alum and fourth year medical sciences student at Dal, led the Tigers three-match sweep of the Sea Hawks on the weekend.
She earned a total of 15.5 points with nine kills in as many attacks and added six aces and digs in the Tigers 3-0 win Friday night, earning Subway Player of the Game honours as a result.
Haworth, who is a Waverley product, was steady again Saturday night, earning 6.5 points with five kills and an ace to lead the Tigers to another 3-0 win over the Sea-Hawks.
On Sunday, she recorded 11 kills, three digs, two aces and a stuff block, good for 14.0 points in the Tigers third and final 3-0 win over the host Sea-Hawks.
