BIBLE HILL: A memorial walk is being planned for April 18 in the Bible Hill area remembering the 23 victims of last April’s mass shooting.
The N.S. March to Remember 23 will begin at 1 p.m. at the Bible Hill Foodland, located at 241 Pictou Road, and walk along the sidewalks to the Bible Hill RCMP detachment, according to an event post on a group Facebook page dedicated to remembering them.
The walk is to also honor those RCMP officers who risked their lives, and in some cases their careers, when they responded to the “war zone” that was happening all around them, the Facebook event post said.
On the post it says “These people meant everything to their families and friends and are missed beyond belief every single day. Aaron Tuck; Jolene Oliver; Emily Tuck; Tom Bagley; Kristen Beaton; Baby Beaton; John Joseph Zahl; Elizabeth Joanne Thomas; Lisa McCully; Corrie Ellison; Const. Heidi Stevenson; Lillian Hyslop; Dawn Madsen; Frank Gulechyn; Heather O’Brien; Joy Bond; Peter Bond; Sean McLeod; Alanna Jenkins; Joey Webber; Greg Blair; Jamie Blair; and Gina Goulet.”
The walkers will have 23 roses with them that they will be placing at the RCMP detachment to represent the victims.
