BEDFORD: Brett Crozsman loves having fun in what he does—especially when it comes to the Lions Walk for Dog Guides.
While some may say the District Manager for Pet Valu is crazy, Crozman will don a six foot dog mascot suit and run 12 kilometres from the Pet Valu on Lacewood Drive to the Bedford store on Bedford Highway on May 11 beginning at 9 a.m.He’s expected to finish by 11 a.m., with a parking lot BBQ which will include food, drinks, and more going until 1 p.m.
It’s all to raise awareness for the store’s annual Walk for Dog Guides, which will be held at Pet Valu stores across the province on May 27.
Crozsman said he’s motivated to get suited up in the dog costume because of the success stories of the Lions Foundation Canada Dog Guides.
“They’re amazing people making a profound difference in the lives of Canadians with medical and physical disabilities,” he said. “I hope my taking a big role with a fun twist in the Pet Valu Walk For Dog Guides event will inspire our stores, customers, and communities to come through and support such a worthy cause.”
The Fall River area resident said there are four ways people can help him out. They include: Donating on the event’s GoFundMe page ““Pet Valu NS – Walk For Dog Guides” and help them hit their $4,000 goal; take part in the ‘Pet Valu Walk For Dog Guides ‘ in your community. Visit Pet Valu Walk.for details; visit any Pet Valu store and make charitable donations and sign up for local events; and like and share the event and GoFundMe page on your social media.
Why did Crozsman decide to get dressed up in this unique run? He answered simply.
“I chose a public run as the publicity event for the sheer fun of it,” said Crozsman. “What better way to connect with the Bedford area community. I also love the healthy living culture and symmetry of a Pet Valu Dog mascot running to support a Dog Walk.”
