WINDSOR JUNCTION: A former Windsor Junction product who now calls Beaver Bank home has been invited to join the Halifax Mooseheads for training camp.
The Mooseheads announced in a tweet that Conor Blackwood will be joining the team for camp when it begins later this summer.
Blackwood played in the N.S. Major Midget Hockey League last year with the Kohltech Valley Wildcats where he compiled a 6-12 (won-loss) record with a 4.13 Goals Against Average (GAA) in 1089 minutes played. Those stats were good enough for a 88.4 save percentage.
He will be joining the Halifax McDonalds hockey club this season, the Mooseheads announced.
Blackwood was drafted in the seventh round by the Yarmouth Mariners at the recently held Maritime Junior A Hockey League Draft.
He joins other local goalies like Jonathan Pickrem of Fall River and Wellington’s Ryan Huestis who had been invited or were property of the Mooseheads at one time.
