FALL RIVER: Lola Ladies’ group is extending a holiday greeting to everyone in the Fall River area.
Started more than two years ago, the group began with one simple goal in mind: introduce ladies in the area.
To date, more than 30 women have been a member, all stating they’ve met new friends and acquaintances that they otherwise never would have met.
“It’s so nice to go to the grocery store, drug store, post office, etc. and sat hello to people you now know,” said Glad Burnie Simmons, one of the group’s founders.
“Lola’s ladies’ group is also a great way for new ladies to the area to meet others in the community,” she said.
Events are planned every month, such as dinners, game nights, annual swap parties, potlucks, Christmas parties, cookie exchanges, and around the world parties.
They’re currently looking to expand their group and are looking for ladies in their mid 40s to 60s in the Fall River, Waverley, Windsor Junction, Enfield areas.
For more information on the group, which prides itself on a sense of community, friendship, laughter and love, contact them through their Facebook by searching Lola Ladies Group, or contact Glad at (902) 499-5353 or jessamy@eastlink.ca or Annette at gardens4u@hotmail.com.
