TRURO: A regimental parade, complete with bagpipes, was held as part of the funeral today March 30 in Truro for fallen firefighter Skyler Blackie.
Thousands of firefighters from around North America, and the world, were in attendance to honour Blackie who died from injuries sustained in a training evolution at the Fire School in Waverley.
Reporter Pat Healey was on hand to pay respects to his friend and get some video for our coverage of the tribute for Blackie.
Check out our Video section and our Facebook page for the story by our Truro sister paper Hub Now, as reporter Raissa Tetanish covered the somber day.
