FALL RIVER: Two Fall River area hockey players were honoured at the year-end Nova Scotia Female Midget Hockey League awards banquet.
Like many sports and events, the NSFMHL season concluded much earlier then planned due to COVID19. With that in mind, the NSFMHL handed out their awards based on the regular season.
Neleh Vigneau-Sargent of Fall River and Lucy Phillips, a former Fall River native, picked up awards at the banquet.
Vigneau-Sargent was named a Rookie All-Star forward. She suits up for the Bussey Auto Broker Penguins.
She amassed 13 goals and six assists in 22 of the teams 24 games to lead the Pens in scoring.
Phillips, who backstops the Station Six Fire, earned Top Goaltender accolades. She surrendered 13 goals in 14 games she appeared in, going 10-1-1 for a 1.05 Goals Against Average.
She had four shutouts on the season.
