Excitement building for Box Car races in Beaver Bank

BEAVER BANK: The inaugural version of the Beaver Bank Box Car Races was such a resounding success that it’s coming back for 2018.

Luke Conrad and his staff at Cartoon Conrad have been working at organizing the event on top of their regular duties to see it happen for a second year in a row.

“We received all positive comments from last years event. The community really enjoyed it and the kids had a lot of fun,” said Conrad in an interview. “We had a great turn out and this year we are expecting to double the attendance.

“We have several employees that take time from their regular job duties to make this happen. There is a lot of anticipation for this year’s race and we can’t wait.”

The Beaver Bank Box Car Races take place in the Lost Creek subdivision. They race down the closed street of Heatherglen Drive. It occurs on Aug. 25 from 10:30-3:30. A rain date is Aug. 26.

Conrad said that planning is coming along well.

“We have had a successful auction to help raise funds for the event and we currently have 12 racers signed up,” her said.

A promotional video was created and posted on You Tube and on their Facebook group, which can be found by searching for Cartoon Conrad Community Events.

He said that Cartoon Conrad feels community involvement is very important.

“The core of the concept is to get kids and adults working together to do a project,” said Conrad. “It is the perfect relationship builder that inspires time management, creativity and simply having fun.”
